Do you or someone you care about use cash to pay for MBTA trips? Do you care about equity? We do too. MBTA is changing to a new fare system. If the ability to pay in cash is important to you, take these three steps today:
Step 2 Drop a new pin for where you want to buy your tickets in the future. Tip: look for this button (top right of screen)
Step 3 If a pin already exists, vote your support by clicking on
More Info The link above allows you to propose sites where those unbanked/without credit cards/without smartphones can go to purchase a ticket with cash to ride public transportation. With no commuter rail or subway station, we have no anchor locations in Stoneham so we need to make sure the MBTA and its contractor know that this option is important and where we think they should go. They are thinking existing retailers but also have the option of putting it in public spaces or standalone locations (like an ATM box) as well. The more feedback, the better!
